Tribute to Alice Cooper

Just Alice-- which is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary-- also started as a happy accident.

"When we started there were only a few tribute acts, to people like ZZ Top and the Rolling Stones," he said. "We started because someone booked us as an Alice Cooper tribute and I only found out the night before the show, so we had to pull one together quickly. I had never even seen a snake in person, and suddenly they handed me a 10-foot python. It's all very dramatic. Alice Cooper is the perfect performer to pay tribute to, because he is so theatrical."

Nick said they are taming down the show for the family crowd at the CNE, but said it was Cooper's wild side that first drew Nick to his music.

"He was very influential when I was growing up because he is everything your parents don't want you to see and do," he said with a laugh. "When he came along he made the Rolling Stones look like choir boys. When parents today look at Marilyn Manson and ask their kids what they see in him, it's the same thing."
