An aspiring Singer/Songwriter Charlene has a background from a very early age in music. A member of her local church choir, All Scarborough Schools Concert and Youth choir (which is the starting point of the Barenaked Ladies) she has a very dynamic vocal.
She has worked with Canadian recording artists such as Melani, and with "Tasha T" (3- time Canadian Reggae Music Award winner & Juno Nominee) on live shows as a back up vocalist. The most recent show was "Empress In Motion" in 2002.

Why book a tribute to Aretha Franklin?

In 1966, after recording twelve albums for Columbia, Aretha Franklin joined Atlantic Records. The following January, in New York, she recorded I Never Loved A Man (The Way I Loved You), and declared her liberation. Later that year, Atlantic Records released the album and the single soared into the US Top 10. Releases that followed include Respect, Baby I Love You, Natural Woman, Chain Of Fools and many more. These releases confirmed her authority and claim to being the "Queen Of Soul.”
