Disco Knights
Tribute to Disco
The Disco Knights formed in early 1995 in response to the sudden rebirth
of '70s disco music. They incorporate wide lapels, funky afros, polyester
bell bottoms, choreographed dance moves and sexy dancing girls to deliver
the hottest and sweatiest show in North America.
The idea come about by accident one Halloween when four musician friends
decided to dress up in '70s clothing and play a few disco tunes as a joke.
The audience response was incredible. By the end of the first set the
band knew that they were on to something big. Suddenly, The Disco Knights
were born. Following an appearance on City TV's morning show "Breakfast
Television", The Disco Knights went on to play in front of an estimated
five thousand spectators during Toronto's 2nd Annual Yonge Street Festival.
The expression on the faces of those who crowded the streets of the city
was that of disbelief. This performance proved to be a huge success and
landed the band a series of gigs which forged their place in the city's
live music scene.
