Ray G
Tribute to Elvis

Ray, also known as "A-Ray of Elvis", was 8 years old when Elvis Presley died. His introduction to Elvis' music was through his mother, who was, and still is an avid Elvis fan. What Ray soon came to realize was that it was more than just the music that made Elvis, the entertainer...the person. It was his underlying desire to make people feel special, to entertain their troubles away, to reach beyond the stage, a trait Ray has carried on. It wasn't a boyhood dream to grow up and become an Elvis tribute artist, but as fate would have it, one thing led to another...

Ray's first professional ambition was to be a chef, which he pursued through the The Culinary Institute of America. While working at an area restaurant, which happened to have a karaoke lounge, Ray picked up the microphone one night and found that he was a natural at performing...and singing Elvis Presley songs. He wasn't immediately swayed into the entertainment world until he won his first Elvis impersonator contest, the largest international event in Memphis, Tennessee in 1993. It was at this time that Ray decided to make his Elvis tribute a full time career...and so, "A-Ray of Elvis" was born! Throughout the 1990's, Ray continued to develop his tribute presentation by incorporating the movements, mannerisms and nuances familiar to Elvis, which has led him to win six more competitions in the U.S. and Canada.
